JAMMU, Oct 29: A forest team was attacked by unknown persons in Chaata area, falling under the jurisdiction of Channi Himmat Police Station.
As per police sources, a forest team during checking found some unknown persons carrying out digging on forest land by using JCB in Chaata area and asked them to refrain.
The persons attacked the forest team and also tried to kill them by using JCB. However, the forest team left the spot and saved their lives.
On the complaint of Range Forest Officer Bahu Jammu, a case under FIR Number 168/19 under Section 307, 353 and 447-A RPC and 6/39 Forest Act has been registered at Channi Himmat Police Station and investigation started.
However, no arrest was made till last reports were compiled.
