Forest guard’s body recovered

RAJOURI, July 13: The dead body of a guard of Social Forestry wing of State Forest Department was recovered from nearby forest area of his village in Thandi Kassi area in district Rajouri, today.
A police spokesman said that Forest Guard, Akhtar Hussain (40), son of Sher Mohammed, resident of Thandi Kassi went missing, last evening. The family members searched for him and also inquired about his whereabouts from the relatives in the area but they failed to get any clue.
They were shocked to know from a villager that Guard’s dead body was lying in the nearby forest area. Then the family members along with other villagers rushed to the area near Iran Khaneter. They also informed police. SHO Rajouri, along with police party reached the spot and he took the body into custody and then shifted it to the District Hospital, Rajouri for postmortem. Some outer injury marks were also visible on the body.
The police handed over the body to the family after completion of legal formalities. It started inquest proceedings under Section 174 CrPC. Police suspects it as murder case but it has not received any clear lead into the case so far.
