JAMMU, Jan 18: A massive protest by the Forest employees was held, here today at Van Bhawan, under the banner of Non-Gazetted Forest Officers Association.
The protesting forest employees were demanding implementation of the agreement executed between Principal Chief Conservator of Forest , J&K and the Association leaders wherein the authorities assured through written agreement to settle their demands within 20 days but nothing was done even after the lapse of more than three months.
While addressing the gathering of employees, the Association president Nazir Ahmed Mir said that the authorities deceived the employees. “We have lost more than one hundred employees in protection of Forests but the department has not fulfilled the demand of risk allowance and two and half day extra salary till date,” he said and alleged that the authorities were deliberately delaying the process of convening DPCs without any justification.

The leaders and employees in one voice appealed to the Governor and his Advisor to fulfill the genuine agreed demands of Forest employees to encourage the Forest front line employees.
“We are not interested to come on street but the authorities are deliberately delaying our service matters at all levels If our demands are not fulfilled, we will continue the agitation,” said the Association Chief advisor Sheikh Bashir Ahmed. He also alleged that some officers and Babus were deliberately delaying service matters of non-gazetted employees for their vested interests.
