Forcible conversions, increasing militancy dominate VHP meet

JAMMU, Feb 5:The forcible conversions of Hindus , torching of copies of sacred Ram Charit Manas and increasing militant activities dominated the two -day Vishaw Hindu Parisad (VHP) meeting that concluded here at Gandhi Nagar today.
The two day meeting started yesterday with the inaugural address of VHP national spokesperson and joint general secretary, Dr Surinder Jain. Besides, the leaders and prominent activists of VHP, activists and office bearers of Bajrang Dal, Matarshakti, Durga Vahini, Ek Vidalaya and other organizations participated in the two day meeting in which various issues concerning the nation were discussed.
The leaders gave full account of the functioning of VHP and its sister organizations especially for the security and safety of Hindus all over the country. Besides, Dr Jain, regional organizing secretary, VHP, Mukesh Kumar was also present in the meeting.
They highlighted the role of the VHP and its sister organisations for the welfare of Hindus all over the country. They also threw light in detail on the programmes to be organised by the Hindu organizations in coming six months which included celebration of birthday of Lord Rama, Navratri festival, Durga Ashtami, Hanuman Chalisa etc.
They said the committees of VHP, BD, Durga Vahini from district to village level will be framed all over the country. In this meeting prevailing situation in the country was also discussed with much focus on forcible conversions of Hindus, Ramcharit Manas issue and increasing militancy in the JK UT. The threadbare debate was held over these issues. The meeting was informed that VHP and BD is solidly with the Hindus of J&K to ensure safety and security to them.
The meeting was informed that VHP and BD are organizing various yatras in the country and also informed about the taking out of Kawad yatra by foot which will run from Gauri Kund, Shupleshwar Mahadev temple to ShudMahadev. During the meeting the posters of Kavad yatra were also released by leaders of VHP.
On the occasion of Sant Ravi Dass Ji Jayanti, Mahamandleshwar, Sant Ramdas highlighted the teachings of Sant Ravi Dass and his service to Hindu society.
State president of VHP, Leela Karan Sharma, its working president, Rajesh Gupta, vice president, Shakti Dutt Sharma, Swaran Singh, secretary , Abhishekh Gupta, joint secretary , Karan Singh, Neshu Gupta, Hemraj, BD convener, Kartik Sudan and others were present in the two days meet.
