JAMMU, July 14:  Food and allied workers of CAPD Department today held one day protest against the indifferent attitude of some officers of the CAPD Department.
The workers under the banner of  Food & Allied  Workers’ Union, J&K,  assembled  at their store on University Road  and started protest demonstration. They alleged that some officers were harassing them. They said that despite assurances, their pending issues have not been resolved.  With the joining of new AD Trade and Store  at Jammu, their harassment has increased.
The workers under the leadership of their president,  Bishan Dass raised slogans against the officers and demanded that their long pending issues be resolved and harassment of the workers be stopped immediately. They said, on earlier occasions also    they had struck work twice and it was assured by the Minister and top officers including Director CAPD Jammu that their issues will be solved shortly but they have only befooled  the workers.  The officers are now trying to create wedge among the workers  and adopting dirty politics means just to create tension  and divert the attention of the victimized workers.
They said now, finally 15 days time is being given to the department  to revise the rates as agreed failing which, they will adopt some other means to get their issues addressed.
