JAMMU, Oct 25: A delegation of Federation of Industries, Jammu (FoIJ) met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in presence of Union MoS, Dr Jitendra Singh and Manoj Sinha, Lt. Governor JKUT here and submitted a detailed memorandum with charter of demands of industrial sector of J&K.
The delegation comprising, Rattan Dogra, chairman and Lalit Mahajan Co-chairman FoIJ, conveyed their thanks to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister for the grant of Fiscal Incentives for the Industrial Sector as per the Industrial Package-202l by Govt of India and Industrial sector of Jammu and Kashmir, termed it as a beginning of new era of development and industrialization. They said the industrialization will achieve a new heights in coming days in J&K UT to provide employment opportunities to the local youth as well as overall growth in the State as we are expecting huge investment in Industrial Sector of J&K on the basis of Rs 28,400 crores Central Industrial Package announced by Govt of India.
Lalit Mahajan drew the attention of Home Minister towards the prospective investors from outside the Union Territory of J&K who are in the process of setting up of big industrial units in J&K for which the developed Industrial land of J&K SIDCO/SICOP is not available at present for immediate allotment as well as the agriculture private land, as the same is not transferable to the outsiders land as per Revenue Act of Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
Mahajan requested the Union Home Minister for the necessary Amendment in the Land Revenue Lct 1962 may be done on priority for the transfer of Non-Agricultural Private land for the industrial purpose on free hold basis enabling the `Prospective unit holders to purchase the Non- Agriculture land for setting up of their units in time bound manner.
The other issues related to the Industrial Sector projected by FoIJ included compulsory purchase by Central Govt/ Union Territory of J&K Departments with price purchase preference from local SSI units; establishment of Mother Industry in J&K; reimbursement of road freight for the dispatch of Industrial goods to domestic market as well as for export from J&K; establishment of Export Promotion Industrial Parks/ SEZ’s in UT of J&K; extension of reimbursement of Gross GST Incentive to the existing MSME units for substantial expansion under the Industrial Development Scheme 2021 and increase of Custom Duty on Walnut Kernels to provide a level playing field to local Walnut Kernels manufacturers.
