JAMMU, May 28: In two separate incidents in city outskirts, five people were injured when trees fall on them this evening due to heavy thunderstorm.
“Due to heavy thunderstorm which occurred this evening, a tree fell near Doodadari Mandir, Akhnoor and a person namely Bharat Bhushan Gupta son of Dinanath, resident of Ward No 8, Akhnoor, got trapped under it and injured badly”, a police spokesman said, adding, the injured was shifted to SDH Akhnoor and after initial treatment further referred to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for treatment.
He said another tree fell on Jammu-Akhnoor road at Sua No 1 and three persons namely Sunil Kumar son of Sewa Ram, resident of Burj Mandir, Raju son of Govind, resident of Pandorian (Mishriwala) and Subash Kumar son of Govind Ram, resident of Mishriwala and Naresh Kumar son of Ram Lal, resident of Patta Paloura got injured. They were shifted to GMCH Jammu for treatment.
