POONCH, Apr 10: Dead body of a person whose residential house was gutted in fire on Sunday at Barari Chool in Mandi area has been recovered from a watercourse of the area.
Official sources said that the person identified as Mohd Rafiq, son of Ahmada Hajam was mentally retarded and people were searching him after his house was burnt, while his dead body was recovered today from a water course.
“Dead body was taken to Sub District Hospital Mandi, where after performing legal formalities, body was handed over to the family through police for last rites”, doctors said.
Sources said that he has committed suicide, while Station House Officer, Insp Muktiar Ali said that an inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC has been initiated and something further can be said after conducting enquiry.
