SAMBA, Apr 1: A massive fire broke out in the godown of a scrap dealer in the Sidco area of Samba, causing a loss of lakhs of rupees.
As per sources, the fire erupted around 4 PM, leaving the employees in panic, who immediately informed the godown owner, Raman Pargal, about the incident.
Following this, sources said, police and fire department teams rushed to the spot to control the blaze.
The fire spread rapidly due to the presence of a large quantity of plastic goods in the godown, they said.
“Despite the intense flames, the fire department worked tirelessly to bring the situation under control. Thankfully, no one was injured in the incident,” sources said.
Owner Raman Pargal stated that the cause of the fire is still unknown, but the financial loss is estimated to be in lakhs.
Meanwhile, the police have registered a case and are investigating the matter further.
