MENDHAR, May 6: The police has registered an FIR against an NC leader, two Sarpanchs and 23 others for instigating people, creating violence, attack on policemen and causing damage to three vehicles including Gypsys of SDPO Mendhar and SHO Gursai during road blockade three days ago.
A police officer said that police has registered FIR No 47/2015 against NC Block president Nasir Ullah Khan, Sarpanch Dhar Galoon (M) Asgar Ali, Sarpanch Gohlad Habib Ullah Khan, Govt teacher Mohd Maroof, SWD employee Mohd Shabir, Panch Farooq Magray and others for instigating mob, attack on police party, causing damage to three official vehicles and resorting to stone pelting. Seven police men were injured in stone pelting by mob when people were protesting along with the dead body of a villager who they alleged was murdered.
The officer said that the police has already launched inquest proceedings under Section 174 CrPC in this regard. Some suspects have also been picked up and statements of the family members and some villagers were recorded. He said some more people may be lifted in this connection. The arrest of those figured in the FIR is being made by the police raiding parties.
