KATRA, Apr 30: Tourism Department imposed Rs 37000 fine on hotels and guest houses in Katra for violation of the Tourist Trade Act and also on dry fruit shops for selling sub standard items.
A team comprising Assistant Director Tourism Katra Vinakshi Koul, SP Tourist Police Abdul Qayoom and Incharge Tourist Police Katra today conducted on the spot checking of Katra market. They inspected dry fruit shops, hotels and guest houses.
The defaulters who did not display the tariff being charged from the costumers and those having un registered units under the Act were fined.
Further instructions were given to all owners of hotels and guest houses to display tariff and properly register under Registration of Tourist Trade Act with the concerned authorities.
