JAMMU, Dec 23: The Finance Department has amended Jammu and Kashmir Book of Financial Powers to revise the ceiling for execution of works.
An official order issued by the Finance Department today said the District Development Commissioners (DDCs) will have powers to accord administrative approval for execution of works up to Rs 15 lakh while the similar powers for the Assistant Commissioners Development would be up to Rs 10 lakh.
The powers of District Panchayat Officers would be up to Rs 5 lakh and Block Development Officers Rs 2 lakh.
The Chief Engineers, Design Directorate will have full powers to accord technical sanction to detailed estimate of works or part thereof including special repairs, renovation, additions and alteration and improvements no chargeable to maintenance under Pradhan Mantri Grameen Sadak Yojana.
The similar powers for Superintending Engineers would be up to Rs 20 lakh while that of Executive Engineer (REW) would be Rs 10 lakh.
