SRINAGAR, Oct 29: Abdul Rahim Rather, Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs, called on N.N. Vohra, Governor, here at the Raj Bhavan.
Mr. Rather briefed the Governor about the progressively improving tax collections in the State and about several issues relating to the Annual Plan 2014-15.
He also apprised the Governor about the past history of various Government departments engaging casual labour and the current position regarding the regularization of services of those engaged from 1994 onwards.
Rohit Kansal, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir also called on Mr. Vohra.
Mr. Kansal apprised the Governor about the to-date status of the ongoing relief and rehabilitation measures and infrastructure re-building, restoration of health care services etc. after the devastating floods in the Valley.
The Governor advised Mr. Kansal to ensure against any delay whatsoever in the effective restoration and delivery of basic services to the flood affected people, particularly keeping in view that the winter is setting in rather early this year.
