Fighting corruption

Sir,
This has reference to the statement made by the Governor J&K State apropos to corruption in the state. Every conscious and civilized individual would endorse the statement of the governor for eradicating corruption in the state which is eating its vitals. It is a fact that most of the politicians and some bureaucrats are corrupt and have amassed wealth beyond their known sources and this is poor man’s tax money that is being realized by the Government which otherwise could have been utilized for some welfare schemes and other developments works.
I wonder about the statement of the Governor asking militants to eliminate corrupt and it gives an impression that Governor has accepted the role of militants in the state by asking them to eliminate the corrupt. This is utter failure of the administration and It is for the first time during 30 long year conflict that any governor or state head asked militants to play their role. What is the role of investigating agencies then who are meant to curb corruption and uproot the corrupt in the state. The Governor’s administration must introspect before issuing such statements which may have bearing on the working of the offices dealing with the corrupt.
It would have been judicious had the Governor ordered the investigating agencies to deal with the corrupt with iron fist in a time bound manner to put them behind the bars for looting our tax money and resources to live a luxurious life. I would as a lay person suggest the the Governor to strengthen the VOK -CB by giving them more powers for effective steps against corrupt and to stop influence for shelving the cases of the corrupt currently gathering dust by interventions. Let governor also act against all such corrupt officers who for one reason or the other join mainstream politics which to them means just a refuge to avoid heat of investigating agencies.
