SAMBA, May 13: An old age unidentified female pedestrian was injured after she was hit by a truck near Vegetable Mandi, Vijaypur in district Samba today.
According to the police, the mishap took place at Jammu -Pathankot National Highway near Vegetable Mandi, Vijaypur, when a truck bearing Registration No JK21A- 9686 on the way of Samba from Jammu, suddenly hit a female pedestrian as result the lady was critically injured.
She was brought to Accidental Hospital Vijaypur with the assistance of Police where doctors gave her the first aid and then shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu for further treatment. The driver of the truck managed to escape from the spot.
Vijaypur police has taken cognizance of the matter and seized the truck.
In another case a young boy consumed poison under mysterious circumstances at his residence in village Chowani area of Ramgarh Sector in district Samba late last night.
He was identified as Rakesh Kumar, 19, son of Rattan Lal resident of village Chowani, Sector Ramgarh. He consumed the poisonous substance at his residence under mysterious circumstances late last night. When the family saw him in unconscious condition they shifted him to CHC Hospital Ramgarh where from the doctor referred him to GMC Jammu for specialized treatment.
The police has taken cognizance in this regard.
