FCR reviews functioning of Revenue Deptt

Jammu, May 27: Financial Commissioner Revenue, Dr. Pawan Kotwal, today chaired a meeting with the Deputy Commissioners of Jammu Division to review functioning of Revenue Department.
Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma and Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Samba, Sushma Chouhan, Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Vikas Kundal, Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Piyush Singla, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Mohammad Aijaz, Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Indu Kanwal Chib, Regional Director Survey & Land Records, Rifat Kohli and other concerned while Deputy Commissioners of Poonch, Doda, Ramban, Kishtwar attended the meeting through video conferencing.
During the meeting, the FCR reviewed the status of work on scanning and digitalization of revenue records in each district of the Jammu Division. He directed the DCs to ensure the scanning of revenue records be done in record rooms as the revenue files are precious documents and should not be transferred from one place to another for scanning.
The DCs informed about the present status of scanning and digitalization of revenue records in their respective districts.
The FCR asked the DCs to expedite the pace of work and set the targets to complete the scanning in a time bound manner.
The FCR also reviewed the progress on updating of Jamabandis and had details of present number of Jamabandis done by the DCs, so far.
Later, Regional Director Survey & Land Records gave a detailed Power Point presentation on various modes of online mutation updations.
