JAMMU, Dec 27: The construction work carried out by JDA authorities at Maharaja Hari Singh Park, Qasim Nagar was stopped on intervention of Chief Engineer, Irrigation and Flood Control Department and Executive Engineer, Flood Control Division as the said land belongs to river Tawi basin and reclaimed the Flood Control Division.
Moreover, the said land stands handed over to JDA for development for park, which was inaugurated by Ghulam Nabi Azad, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare and not for any other construction activity.
Any encroachment if attempted in future will be dealt under J&K Water Resources (Regularization and Management) Act, 2010.
