Father-son duo held for making, selling illicit liquor

JAMMU, Dec 7: Miran Sahib Police has arrested a man and his son for preparing and selling illicit liquor.
“Acting on the information received through reliable source that one person namely Bodh Raj son of Munshi Ram of Phinder (Miran Sahib) along with his son namely Arjun Kumar are preparing/selling illicit liquor without any legal permission, a team of Police Station Miran Sahib raided the spot,” Police sources said.
During raid, the police team led by SHO Miran Sahib Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq, assisted by I/C BPP Kullian, identified an underground tank where the illicit liquor was prepared and seized. About 35 litres of desi liquor and approximately 500-600 litres of Lahan was destroyed on spot by the Police team.
“During checking, one Toka (sharp edged weapon) was also recovered from the possession of the accused persons,” sources said, adding, a case FIR Number 163/2022 U/S 48 (E), 48 (F), Excise Act, 4/25 Arms Act was registered in this connection at Police Station Miran Sahib and further investigation started.
