JAMMU, Nov 18: Crime Branch Jammu has registered a formal criminal case against accused Gandharab Singh son of Amir Chand and his son Arjun Singh of Thangarpuli Channi Himmat for cheating and duping the complainant of Rs 30 lakh over a piece of land falling in Greater Kailash Jammu.
Both the accused induced the complainant to enter a deal of Rs 60 lakh as cost of the plot, out of which Rs 30 lakh were paid in advance after executing various ‘agreements to sell’ with regard to sale of said land over which they were having no ownership title. However on the basis of forged ‘agreement to sell’, they allured the complainant to handover a huge amount of Rs 30 lakh in the year 2017 to the accused.
Accused Gandharab Singh is a notorious criminal involved in double murder case in FIR No. 70/2001 U/S 302/RPC P/S Trikuta Nagar.
On receipt on a written complaint by Krishan Lal of Dhakki Bazar, Ward No. 7, Rajouri, at present Deeli Greater, Jammu, a preliminary verification was conducted by Crime Branch, Jammu. Based on statement of witnesses and the record received from various banks and concerned Revenue office, it has been prima facie established that suspects Gandharab Singh allured the complainant dishonestly and executed a document through his son Arjun Singh with the intention to be believed by the complainant that Arjun Singh is the absolute owner in possession of land in contention and forged the affidavit and allured the complainant to deliver Rs 30 lakh to them for the land of which the suspect had no title.
The aforementioned omissions and commissions on the part of accused person constitute offences punishable under section 420, 465, 467, 468, 120-B IPC. Accordingly, a formal case has been registered in P/S Crime Branch, Jammu and investigation of the case is set in motion.
