Accidents are always lamentable, loss of lives in Ramnagar, Udhampur and other places road accident is indescribably irreparable and shocking. All the victims die or get injured in young age. Their sudden and untimely departure from the world cause a wide gap in the area which is unlikely to be filled for several decades. Those who have to live long, die, leaving behind kith and kins in utter bereavement. Gesture of sympathy expressed by the Govt is indeed appreciable in this case, but what are the root causes for such tragedies have never been plugged. Mal constructed and ill-maintained roads are considered fundamental reasons for such tragic scenes. It is extremely disheartening that on every such incident, assurance for road safety measures is announced by the Govts, but hardly anything substantial is done in reality. The department should evolve an effective plan to ensure no such mishappenings are faced by the masses. Accidents reflect lackadaisical (attitude of the Govts and failure to adopt measures to save the precious human lives.
