Farooq Abdullah visits Khankhah-e-Moulla shrine

SRINAGAR, Nov 16: National Conference president and Member Parliament from  Srinagar, Dr Farooq Abdullah today  visited the shrine of Amir-e-Kabir, Shah-e-Hamdan (RA) Khankhah-e-Moulla in Srinagar to assess damages to the shrine due to a tragic fire incident.
Dr Abdullah, accompanied by National Conference general secretary and MLA Khanyar, Ali Mohd Sagar, paid obeisance at the shrine and sought the immediate restoration of the damaged sections.

“Khankhah-e-Moulla is the spiritual core of Kashmir and a rich repository of our spiritual and cultural history. The incident of fire here was heart wrenching and I commend the locals and the firefighters for playing an exemplary role to contain the fire and limit damage to the shrine. We are all indebted to them and salute them”,  Dr Farooq  said at Khankhah.
The National Confere-nce leader interacted with the Mujavirs of the shrine and took stock of the damage. He discussed the restoration of the shrine with MLA Khanyar Sagar and assured the devotees that no stone would be left unturned to restore the shrine to its pristine glory and original shape.
