DDC reviews progress on CM’s announcements

SRINAGAR, Nov 16: District Development Comm-issioner (DDC), Kupwara Khalid Jahangir reviewed review the status of ongoing developmental projects being executed under different schemes.
He also took stock of Chief Minister’s commitments made by her during the visit to Kupwara on October 24 this year, in which different public deputations and individuals put forth their demands for early redressal.
He impressed upon the all stake holders for completion and ensures implementation of all 143 commitments and fixed deadline for completion of the ongoing development projects.
The officers and engineers of PHE, R&B, RDD, Planning, Revenue, Youth Services and Sports, Irrigation, PDD, Flood Control, Animal and Sheep Husbandry were also present in the meeting.
Chief Planning Officer, Kupwara briefed about the commitments made by the Chief Minister with the public deputations and sector wise works plan, DPRs and other modalities of the schemes.
Meanwhile, DDC Kupwara also convened a joint meeting of officers of different departments and financial institutions to review the progress achieved under the implementation of PMAY for all urban.
Chief Planning Officer Kupwara briefed about the progress, beneficiaries and financial involvements with the help of executing agencies.
DDC impressed upon the executive and implementing agencies for removing all bottlenecks, hurdles and officials procedures by following the guidelines of the GoI while taking executing works and activities. He passed instruction to concerned agencies to complete the projects within stipulated time frame.
It was given out that 1480 units were targeted in the district out of them 690 beneficiaries in phase-1 have been submitted to Hosing Board including 659 for enhancement and 31 units for new construction in Handwara and Kupwara so far.
The officers of District Urban Development Agency, Municipal Committees, Revenue, representatives from financial institutions and Housing Board were present during the meeting.
The Municipal Committees have been asked to submit their requisition for allocation from Housing Board within next ten days.
