JAMMU, Feb 12: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President and MP, Dr Farooq Abdullah on Sunday paid obeisance at the revered shrine of Sufi saint Khawaja Moin-Ud-Din Chisti (RA) in Ajmer Sharief.
The senior Abdullah was accompanied by Youth National Conference President, Jammu, Aijaz Jan to the shrine.
As per a statement, Dr Farooq Abdullah offered Cheddar, the ceremonial cloth and flowers at the revered shrine and sought bountiful provisions from the Almighty for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh. He prayed for lasting peace, amity and prosperity in the country in general and J&K in particular.
Referring to “Operation Dost” to extend assistance to Turkey, he said: “Our country was quick to send medical equipment, ration, and relief to the earthquake-hit country. This is the idea of India we grew up hearing about”.
“Humanity is the biggest religion and truth in the world and core of the spirit of the Indian culture. I hope and pray, the country devastated by quake rises again from the rouble,” he hoped.
