Farmer demand compensation, submits memo to Tehsildar

SAMBA, Dec 23: Farmers of Tehsil Ramgarh demanded compensation of the paddy crops which got destroyed due to unseasonal rains and hailstorm. They also submitted a memorandum to Tehsildar Ramgarh here today.
According to the report, a large numbers of farmers of Ramgarh Tehsil assembled at Tehsil Office Ramgarh and handed over their charter of demands to Tehsildar Ramgarh for further submissions to LG of J&K.
The farmers said that their entire crop which includes paddy particularly got damaged due to unseasonal rains and hailstorm.
“Unseasonal rains is also affected the sowing of Rabi crops mainly of wheat”, they said, adding that due to serious effect on their farming due to unseasonal rains and hailstorm, their future is plunging towards poverty.
“It has become too difficult to feed our families and carry out education of our wards”, they said and appealed to the LG J&K to intervene into their issues and redress them on priority.
