The family members and relatives of a 6-year-old girl Sanjana Bhagat assembled near Exhibition Ground under the banner of Council for Civil Liberties here and held protest demanding arrest of the girl’s father, who allegedly killed his daughter on April 19 this year.
While talking to reporters, mother of the deceased girl’s told that on April 19 this year, her husband Subash Kumar, a resident of Kangrail killed her daughter.
“I need justice. My husband should be arrested and action should be taken against him for killing my minor daughter without any reason”, she demanded.
Another protestor said that despite lapse of around four weeks, police fails to take action against the accused father, who allegedly killed her 6-year-old daughter.
“A murder case should be registered against Subash Kumar and Special Investigation Team (SIT) should be framed to investigate the case”, he demanded.
However, a senior police official while talking to the Excelsior said, “The girl died under mysterious circumstances and inquest proceedings under section 174 CrPC have been initiated by Kanachack Police”.
“We are waiting for the medical report to ascertain the exact cause of the death”, he said and asserted that strict action will be taken against Subash Kumar if he will be found guilty.
