‘Faith Healing Workshop’ on cancer organised

JAMMU, Feb 2: On completing a decade of cancer awareness, ‘Lajwanti Bhagatnath Radiations of Hope’ a Cancer Care Foundation Trust J&K organized a ‘Faith Healing Workshop’ at Peer Kho cave Temple here today.
The event was initiated by Mahant Ravinath ji and witnessed a Havan followed by cancer survivors meet arranged by Kark Vijayan, the first cancer survivorship group of J&K. The survivor meet included sharing of ideas among patients, survivors and care givers. Dr Rahul Sharma, Associate Professor Radiation Oncology GMC Jammu, was the Resource Person.
Mahant Ravi Nath, in his address, outlined the importance of ancient beliefs and ideas in managing human ailments and the need of blending old traditional system of medicines with modern science for finding treatment for various diseases.
The main attraction of event was establishing a tree ‘Kalptaru’, a wish tree initiated By Mahant Peer Ravi Nath ji.
Former MLA Rajesh Gupta who attended the event as special guest discussed efforts of Trust and asked the organisers to work with more zeal for benefit of poor patients. Secretary of Trust Shashi Khajuria said that on the day of completion of a decade of cancer awareness, ‘Kalp Taru’ a wish tree is being initiated where patients, cancer survivors or people from different walks of life can come and tie a band of hope to get well soon, to be disease free or to pray for cancer suffering free World.
Chairman LBNROH, Prof K B Abrol said that this tree can act as faith healing laboratory and a place where patients can get solace.
Organizing Secretary Dr Deepak Abrol (Cancer Specialist) thanked Peer Khoh Mandir Management especially Mahant Peer Ravi Nath ji for all the support and blessings because of which the event was possible. He said that this event is a beginning of experiment to utilize social resources in academic and health related activities.
