JAMMU, Feb 2: Kashmiri translated version of Durga Sapthshati was released on the auspicious occasion of Maagh Asahtami at the holy shrine of Maharagnya at Bhawani Nagar Peeth here, today.
The Kashmiri version of Durga Sapthshati is the first of its kind which is translated by Santosh Nadaan a well known poet. It added another feather in her cap. The translated version of the holy book was released in presence of galaxy of prominent people including social activists and scholars.
The speakers highly acclaimed the efforts of Nadaan in bringing out such simple and easy translation of the book. She also sang some verses of the book on the occasion which, were liked by the devotees present in the function.
The speakers said that this book will be really a milestone in the long collection of the books of Nadaan which she has written from time to time. Nadaan is popularly known for her Leela “Khasu Myani Hyeray Hare Krishno”.
Nadaan is a poet of repute who has a proven track record of publishing 17 books on the different subjects and her poetry. This translation of Durga Sapthshati in Kashmiri is 18th publication of Nadaan which is a valuable contribution towards preservation of Indian culture and religious ethos.
Nadaan, while speaking said as the common people nowadays are not well versed with Sanskrit language, this book in chaste Kashmiri will go a long way in understanding the text of the book and familiarize the younger generation with our culture and religious heritage.
The function was held under the aegis of Ardh Ratri Maha Raginya Seva Sansthan , Bhawani Nagar Jammu and it was presided over by R L Dhar. Prominent among those who were present on the occasion included Leela Dhar Koul, Rohit Koul, Secretary, Dr Sushil Wattal, Vijay Wali and Ajay Raina.
