Facebook user booked for sensitive posts

POONCH, Feb 13: Taking strong note of mischievous activity of a person on social media site ‘Facebook’, where he has been making sensitive remarks having potential to disturb peace and creating law and order problem, District Police Poonch have booked a man under relevant sections of law and have started legal proceedings against him.
Senior Superintendent of Police Poonch, Ramesh Angral said that during routine surveillance on social media platforms, team of Surankote police came across Facebook accounts on which sensitive updates are being made constantly that could emerge as grave threat to peace and order.
The Facebook account has been used by a person identified as Shoket Ali, resident of Dhara Morha of Surankote, Poonch.
Taking note of their mischievous acts, SSP said that a case in FIR No. 17/2020 under sections 295-A, 505(2),67 IT Act in Police Station Surankote has been registered and legal proceedings in the case have been started.
SSP Poonch appealed all the people to make use of social media platforms in a careful and positive manner.
“Police has warned all the mischievous people that whosoever will attempt to instigate the public by spreading rumours and fake posts having potential to disturb peace, will be dealt strictly under law and stern action will be initiated. We also appeal all the people of District Poonch to make proper use of social media and not to indulge in illegal activities,” SSP said.
