JAMMU, Aug 3: Stoutly opposing the discriminatory status of J&K, the former Union Minister, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta has observed that this was the main cause of several complex problems facing not only the people of this State alone but also the entire country.
Though this position was granted as temporary measure when the Constitution was framed but the obnoxious provision as also some other such like controversial steps still existed in the statue book even after expiry of more than six decades, he said. This is also providing opportunity to secessionists and dubious characters to fan communal problems in the troubled Kashmir, he said and alleged that some politicians masquerading as secular and nationalists are playing dirty role more than even the separatists who have not hidden their communal inner.
Prof. Gupta said that a strange situation has been created in this State. A person from J&K State can enjoy all the rights in entire India, but no person from outside the State including even an Army Jawan who sacrificed his life for the defence of the country on the frontiers of the State can buy even an inch of land in J&K.
He said while the elements infected by communal virus are opposing the citizenship rights for Pak refugees, they appear to have no objection in the stay of foreigners like Rohingyas, Bangladeshis and even Pakistanis who had been finding place in the State after their infiltration in circumstances shrouded in mystery.
Prof. Gupta sought deep probing into the coming of Rohingyas from Burma and Bangladeshis hundreds of miles away from to the State also demanded that those elements who had provided them ration cards, voter cards, election cards, and even Aadhaar cards etc. as also opening of Madrasas for their radicalization be exposed.
He expressed surprise that while in Jammu the Congressmen and even the NC leaders demand the deportation of these foreigners in Kashmir and at other places the leaders of these parties are airing contradictory voices.
