KATHUA, May 5: State president of Panthers Party and former MLA from Udhampur, Balwant Singh Mankotia has cautioned the people of the State that under well planned conspiracy some Govt agencies are hell bent to demote Dogri language and warned that party will not tolerate such misdeeds.
The Ex-MLA appealed the people to promote Dogri language in their respective areas being mother tongue of Dogra region. He said that separate Jammu State is the only option to end discrimination in every sphere.
Addressing series of public meetings at Ramkote, Challan, Nagrota Gujru,  Thada Kalial, Sialna, Dareli, Aglidhar, Gura Kalial, Barota, Harnote and Mandli Panchayats of  Kathua district during his ‘Haq Insaaf Yatra’ for separate Jammu statehood, Mankotia sought massive public support for this cause. He said only a strong regional party from Jammu region can bring end to discrimination against Jammu people. He said that time has come for the people of Jammu region to fully support NPP as they have tried and tested both Congress and BJP in Jammu region.
Mankotia cautioned the people of State that under well planned conspiracy Dogri language is being removed from the curriculum. He warned that Panther Party will not allow anyone to play with the sentiments of the Dogras  and weaken their mother tongue.
NPP leader said that in whole country, primary education has been imparted in mother tongue and local language is being promoted vigorously. Languages incorporated in the 8th Schedule of the Indian Constitution being made compulsory to impart education at primary level in mother tongue. He said Dogri language which got status in Eighth Schedule of Indian Constitution in 2004 been asked to taught at primary level by an order of J&K Govt in 2006. But Kashmir Centric leadership didn’t implement that order with true spirit and since then Dogri language is being ignored in the State despite majority people of Jammu region used to speak Dogri, Mankotia regretted.
It is unfortunate that BJP which claims itself as well wisher of the Jammu people,  has deceived them by not providing right status to Dogri language  despite being a coalition partner in State.
NPP leader Ravinder Singh Billowria and Manoj Gupta also addressed the gathering at different places of  Billawar constituency.
