JAMMU, Sept 22: A three day exhibition titled ‘Khadi for Youth’ was inaugurated by Nodal Principal of the College, Dr N K Resutra, organized by Khadi and Village Industry Commission in the Old Hall of GGM Science College, Jammu where various handicraft products made by the workers of Village and Cotton Industry including handmade Khadi items, herbal products, beauty products etc were displayed.
Speaking of the occasion, Dr Resutra welcomed the KVIC members for organizing such an event in the College. He exhorted upon the student to learn as much as possible from the members of the commission about various schemes and take full advantage of them to fight against the unemployment.
Elaborating on the details of the programme Rajesh Bakshi, Secretary Khadi Gramodyog Seva Sansthan explained that the Government of India has initiated a program under the tictle “Khadi for Youth” wherein, an awareness cum employment programme has been carried by KVIC to spread the knowledge of various employment schemes for the unemployed youth of the urban and rural areas of the country.
Among others present on the occasion were Ashok Dixit, Sr. Manager, Gandhi Seva Sadan, Sudendra, B B Raina, Balkar Singh and Simar Kumar from KVIC.
