Can a responsible Police officer of the stature of Deputy Superintendent of District Jail be a conduit and a promoter of recruiting youth into terrorism and send them to PoK for arms training to wage war against the country in Jammu and Kashmir? Though unbelievable, the fact of the matter is that the NIA recently conducted simultaneous raids and arrested Feroze Ahmed Lone, the Deputy Jail Superintendent, Amphalla Jammu and Ishaaq Palla, a terrorist. Both the accused are residents of Budgam and Shopian in Kashmir respectively.
Both the arrested persons are reported to be the main conspirators in Kupwara – Hizbul Mujahideen conspiracy case in which, as per The National Investigation Agency, the youth were motivated to join terrorism and ex-filtrate to Pakistan occupied Kashmir for receiving arms training to join the terror ranks in the Kashmir valley.
Both the arrested “prospective trained terrorists” revealed as to how they were motivated by the Jail Superintendent Feroz Lone and his accomplice Ishaq Palla respectively. At the time of incident, Palla was lodged in central prison Srinagar and he was instrumental in hatching conspiracy from Jail to motivate youth to join terrorism. Because of the sensitivity of the case, the same is being handled by the NIA.
While the State and the entire country is proud of the Jammu and Kashmir Police force in its splendid contribution, in tandem with other personnel of the security forces, in fighting the ongoing terrorism and the associated violence in the Valley and in the process of which, many brave personnel of the Force have been regularly giving even supreme sacrifice , there are examples , though rare, of some black sheep in the Force like Feroz Ahmed Lone . Such people deserve exemplary punishment. Such persons dotting the uniform of service, bravery and loyalty are in fact, dots of slur on the entire force and should be identified, hunted out and proper action taken against them.
