KATHUA, May 8: The team of Excise Department Kathua led by ETO, Varinder Kumar conducted extensive raids in district Kathua to check overcharging by liquor shops besides violation of rules and guidelines in Kathua.
During the raid, a wine shop in Ward 2 of Kathua, which was found to be overcharging the customers, was booked for violation of the Jammu and Kashmir Excise Act, 1958.
After this, all the bars in Kathua city were also checked by the team. Giving this information, the Excise Officer, Kathua Excise Range said that after complain, Sanjay Wine Shop was booked in Ward 2 Kathua.
He informed that the Department has launched a multi-pronged strategy to prevent overcharging by liquor shops and violation of guidelines by bars. He appealed to the people that if anyone charges more at the liquor shop, then complain to the departmental officers and action will be taken immediately.
