Man killed in blast, 15 grenades seized

Srinagar, Aug 4: One person was killed when a blast took place in a tailoring shop today in Keran sector of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district and security forces later recovered 15 grenades from the shop during searches.
One person identified as Abdul Hamid Bajad, a local resident was killed in Ferkiyan area of Keran near Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara this morning when an explosive went off.
A joint team of police and Army reached the spot soon after the explosion took place inside the shop and during the searches recovered 15 hand grenades.
The shop owner, tailor master Parvez Khawaja, was arrested and he is being questioned in connection with the recovery of the grenades.
Further investigations in this regard are being conducted by police.
A security force official termed the recovery of grenades as major success.
