MENDHAR, Feb 18: An ex-servicemen rally under the aegis of Brig (Retd) Harcharan Singh, Director, Sainik Welfare Department, J&K, was organized here today by Major (Retd) Prem Singh, Zila Sainik Welfare Officer (ZSWO), Poonch.
The ZSWO officer accompanied by Mohd Iqbal Bhatti and Harmreet Singh redressed on the spot the grievances and problems of Ex-servicemen, Veer Naries, defence personnel and their families. CSD Smart Cards applications and letters for Station orders were prepared on the spot and newly retired Army personnel of Mendhar Tehsil were issued Ex-servicemen cards. Identity of ex-servicemen and Veer Naries for militia relief, WWII veterans and pensioners were also carried out.
Major (Retd) Prem Singh also educated the ex-servicemen and Veer Naries about various welfare schemes of Kendriya Sainik Board and Rajya Sainik Board. ECHS and other requirements were also briefed by the ZSWO to ex-servicemen and Veer Naries. The officer also briefed ex-servicemen and Veer Naries regarding joint notification for family pension and its importance.
