Jammu May 27: Former member Parliament and senior Congress leader Madan Lal Sharma has resented removal of contractual and consolidated appointees in the State by the Governor’s Administration.
In a press statement issued to the Press, Mr Sharma lambasted the State Government for its failure to fill vacancies in various departments because of which many works are suffering. He said these contractual/consolidated appointees despite their appointments on low salaries work with the Government departments in the hope of becoming permanent one day.
He said the functioning of many departments like PHE, I&FC, PDD, Education, Social Welfare, Agriculture will be paralysed if the adhoc/contractual/consolidated staff is removed.
Sharma appealed to the State Governor Satya Pal Malik to intervene in the matter and order the status quo on the order and start the process of absorbing these appointees in the Government on regular basis. He further requested that all the vacant positions should be advertised so that the unemployed youth can get the right of being employed timely and earn their livelihood.
