Jammu, Dec 30: S.S.Ali, Ex. DGP J&K passed away late last night, in AIIMS, New Delhi.
His last rites were performed at Panch Peer Nizam-ud-Din Delhi, Grave Yard this afternoon.
A.K.Bhan, Ex.DGP J&K, Sunil Dutt.SSP, CID Cell, New Delhi, P.C.Kilam, Bashir Ahmed and Aijaz Ahmed DySP of J&K CID Cell Delhi attended the burial of S.S.Ali on behalf of Ashok Prasad, DGP J&K and laid floral wreaths.
The ceremonial Guard of Honour was presented on the occasion by J&K Police to the deceased officer.
S.S.Ali was admitted in AIIMS on December 17, 2012 after a brief illness and passed away late last night.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah condoled the demise of S. S. Ali and conveyed his sympathy to the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
Political Advisor to the Chief Minister Devender Singh Rana also condoled the sad demise of Ali and said that he was a people’s policeman who had great qualities of head and heart.
Rana spoke to Ali’s daughter and conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
DGP Ashok Prasad recalled the significant contribution of the former Additional Director General of Police dint of his hard work, leadership and guidance of head and heart.
Mr. Prasad said that the police organization has lost a distinguished senior colleague, who will be remembered for years to come.
While calling his demise a great loss, Director General Fire and Emergency Services Dr G A Bhat expressed grief over the demise of Ali.
While offering his heart felt condolonces to the bereaved family, Bhat prayed for courage to the family for bearing this great loss.
Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone Dilbag Singh expressed profound shock and grief over the death of S.S.Ali. In his condolence message, he said that such sincere, warm hearted and honest police officer will be remembered forever.
