RAJOURI, Dec 27: A 25-year-old youth was stabbed by a teen-aged boy for passing obscene remarks on her young sister in main market near Panja Chowk here this afternoon.
Police sources said that 17-year old boy Tanjeel Ahmed, son of Mohd Ayub, resident of Chingus in Rajouri had gone to Shahdara Shrief Ziarat near Thannamandi along with his elder sister for offering prayers today. One Shakeel Ahmed (25), son of Muneer Hussain, hailing from Avtal village in Rajouri was also travelling in the same vehicle while returning. This Shakeel was teasing the sister of Tanzeel even during the travel. Both brother and sister resisted his advances and also warned him.
At Rajouri, when they boarded off the vehicle and were moving in the market towards Panja Chowk, Shakeel again started chasing and passing remarks. The teen-aged boy, got furious and purchased a knife from a nearby shop and stabbed Shakeel. While some cops who were at the nearby chowk over powered the boy along with knife, Shakeel with four stab wounds on neck, shoulder, upper and lower abdomen was rushed to District Hospital in Police Gypsy by SHO Chaman Gorkha, who also reached there immediately.
The SHO said that eve-teasing was the reason behind the attack by minor boy. The boy has been arrested and cases were registered in this connection. The stabbing victim has been referred to GMC Hospital Jammu for deep stab wounds in abdomen. The police also recorded the statement of the girl.
