Estates employees stage protest

JAMMU, June 19: The employees of Estates Department held a protest demonstration in their office complex near Main Stop, Gandhinagar here today.
A large number of employees/ workers of the department led by Yash Paul Sharma, under the banner of Coordination Committee of Estates Employees Union, assembled in front of the office of Deputy Director, Estates Jammu and started protest demonstration. They were shouting slogans in support of their pending demands.
They were demanding re-organisation of Estates department, holding of DPC, regularisation of daily rated workers, construction of staff quarters, inclusion of helpers for further promotion under fresh Recruitment Rules and send back outsider employees to their parent departments.
While addressing employees Yash Paul urged upon the higher authorities to address the pending demands of the Estates employees. He said on several occasions representations were submitted to the Director and Deputy Director Estates but the issues were not resolved. He said that if the issues / demands were not addressed within week, the Union will be left with the only option to go for indefinite struggle.
Later, Dy Director Alyas Khan held meeting with the Union members and assured to take up their issues with the higher authorities for resolution.
Senior members, Jeet Raj, Satish Kumar, Ashok Kumar, Subash Chander, Rajesh Kumar, Ram Chand, Kuldeep Raj, Ravi Kumar, Baljit Singh, Hardeep Singh, Ramesh Lal and others also accompanied.
