JAMMU, June 19: Mohammedan Cricket Club and Virat Cricket Club scripted convincing victories over their rivals to advance into the next rounds of the ongoing JKCA District Level Cricket Tournament, being organised at different venues in the State.
At Bhaderwah, Mohammedan Cricket Club thrashed Shooting Star Cricket Club in an easy contest by 9 wickets.
Batting first, Shooting Star bundled out for paltry total of 83 runs, while in reply, Mohammedan Cricket Club chased the target in just 7.2 overs. Tashfeen was awarded man of the match for brilliant bowling display.
At GGM Science College Hostel ground, Jammu, Virat Cricket Club defeated Rebellion Cricket Club by 79 runs. Batting first, Virat Club scored 259 runs in 30 overs by losing 7 wickets. Neeraj Dani top scored with 66 runs, while Vikrant Bali contributed 60 runs to the total. Jimmy also contributed 34 runs. Susheel and Vikas took 2 wickets each for Rebellion Club.
In reply, Rebellion Club managed to score 180 runs to lose the match by a big margin. Vikas, Anshul and Ajay contributed 32, 30 and 24 runs to the total respectively. From Virat Club, Vikaran Bali took 3 wickets, while Aman claimed 2 wickets.
The match was officiated by Sadiq Hussain Malik, Ashok Singh and Rahul Kumar.
The Tournament is being held under the patronage of Justice CK Prasad, Administrator JKCA; Chairmanship of Syed Ashiq Hussain Bukhari, CEO JKCA and the supervision of Jang Bahadur Singh Jamwal, Member JKCA and Member Judicial State Human Rights Commission.
