SRINAGAR, Aug 19: A health check-up camp for beneficiaries of ESI scheme was organized today at Jamkash Vehicles, Hyderpora Bypass, by a team of doctors.
Over 250 employees of institution were examined in the health camps. Needy among them were also given medicines on the spot. Owais Zahoor, Manager (Human Resources) personnel from Jamkash made arrangements for the camp.
Some cases of surgery, hyper tension, and diabetes were identified for further treatment as follow up action of the check-up exercise. They would be provided detailed cashless medical/surgical treatment under the ESI Scheme.
The team included Dr Mudassar Sultana, Dr Abid, Dr Peerzada Owais, Dr Shoukat Rasool and paramedical staff from ESI Dispensaries Bagh-e-Ali Mardan Khan and Khanmoh and ESIC Hospital, Jammu.
Dr Om Prakash, State Medical Commissioner, ESIC and Dr Rehana Kausar, Administrative Medical Officer, ESI Scheme, J&K, supervised the medical check-up camp.
Regional Director, ESIC (J&K), Arvind Kumar, informed that more such camps would be held in ESI covered employer units and stated that these should be held in hazardous industries such as cement and chemical industries and flour mills.
It was decided that such health check up camps would be regularly held in Srinagar, concentrating on hazardous industries. Regional Director intended that the employers covered under ESI Scheme who desire to hold health check up camps in their premises, may contact ESIC for the purpose which would be considered.
Sharing the developments under ESI Scheme in Jammu & Kashmir, he informed that ESIC Head Office, New Delhi has approved operationalization of ESIC Model Dispensary at Khonmoh, Srinagar where specialist consultations and diagnostic facilities would be provided.
