‘Equivalence of Degree’ order: Engineers expect PSC to open new window

JAMMU, June 10: Electronics and Communication stream of Graduate Engineering have said that Equivalence of Degree order issued by J&K Govt recently is significant as number of vacant post of Assistant Engineer (AE) Elect referred to PSC were lying vacant till date due to alleged controversy created by some vested interests in Power Development Department (PDD).
These engineers working in PDD and fresh aspirants having BE (Electronics and Communication) today met here and expressed relief after the Governor and his team removed ‘bottlenecks’ and resolved the ‘divide’ within PDD to give ‘equal opportunity’ for Electronics and Communication candidates.
A handout stated that a High Level Standing Committee of the Government upheld the equivalence of the Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communication for applying to the post of Assistant Engineer-Elect in PDD.
The candidates expressed hope that a new window for filling up forms for Electronics and Communication candidates shall be opened by Public Service Commission (PSC) on priority.
