Ensure quick response to people’s issues: DDC Chairperson Rajouri

RAJOURI, Dec 8: To hear and redress the public grievances at their doorsteps, a public grievances redressal camp was today held at Peeri area under the aegis of Weekly Block Diwas programme.
The event was presided over by the District Development Council Chairman, Naseem Liyaqat.
Among the others, DC Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan; BDC Chairperson Budhal Old-A, Javed Iqbal Chowdhury; ADC Koteranka, Surinder Mohan Sharma; ACD, Sushil Khajuria; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; GM DIC, Manzoor Hussain; SE Hydraulics, JP Singh; CEO RDA, Vivek Puri; CAO, Som Singh; ARTO, Shami Kumar besides other District and sectoral officers attended the public durbar.
Panchayat Representatives, prominent citizens, retired Government Employees and common masses of Peeri and adjoining areas thronged the Public outreach camp and put forward several demands.
They sought adequate water supply, macadamization and renovation of roads, up-gradation of schools, better health services and related issues were projected during the programme.
Many issues were resolved on the spot with the intervention of the concerned departments.
Specific issues and demands projected on the occasion included blacktopping of Mandir Galla to Rajouri road, construction of road from Darhal to Prori, shortage of electricity poles, sanctioning of GDC for Peeri, the inclusion of eligible beneficiaries under PMAY-R, construction of road from Ratta Jabbar to Prori, construction of a sports stadium at Peeri, repair and renovation of Panchayat Ghar Dhar and block status for Peeri.
The public also demanded the opening of Panchayat Ghar at Prori completion of water supply scheme at Kharad, sanctioning of a health sub-centre at Kharad.
They also complained about unscheduled power cuts, worn-out water pipes, exaggerated electricity bills; lack of road connectivity to Kathuni Dhar, delayed loan disbursement, paucity of staff at HSS Peeri, dilapidated condition of road from Kotedhera to Tarkassi and road from Peeri to Kotedhera, delayed payment of installments under PMAY-G.
The officers also made the masses aware of various welfare schemes and programs being implemented in the district and motivated them to avail the benefits of the same.
Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner gave a detailed resume of developmental projects completed and initiated in the district under PDD, PWD, Health, Education, RDD, Jal Shakti, employment and Labour etc. He said that the District Administration is committed to provide all basic amenities to the public and ensure that the benefits reach to the last man in the queue.
In his address, the Chairman said that the District Development Council and the District Administration are making persistent efforts to provide quality services to the common masses, that too at their doorsteps.
The Chairman directed the officers to work with a missionary zeal so that the people of the area may not be deprived of government schemes.
He also asked them to gear up their field machinery and ensure that the difficulties of the people are addressed and resolved at the earliest.
The Chairman also appealed to the public to ensure their active participation in the developmental process to take the district to new heights of development.
