BANIHAL, Apr 13: National Conference (NC) District Ramban president, Sajjad Shaheen today demanded that J&K administration should take measures to ensure the supply of essential commodities, vegetables and fruits at affordable prices during the month of Ramzan beginning from tomorrow.
In a handout he stated that people have started facing shortage of several essential commodities due to various factors like frequent road blockade and traffic jams on National Highway.
“This shortage leads to price escalation impacting common man,” he said adding that the Government should take immediate measures to control the situation.
The NC leader said that ration scarcity and defunct utility services are posing enormous problems to the people of entire Ramban district especially in areas of Banihal like Mahu, Mangit, Khari, Nadika, Trigam, Kumbla, Buzla, Srachi, Hinjhal, Fagow, Tethar, Chachal, Neel, Chaknarwah, Chamalwas, Shagan, Hingni, Zonchwas, Sumar, Harog, Pogal, Maligam, Paristan, Gagarnag, Sarachi, Chaka, Sarbagni, Amkot, Thachi etc.
He also expressed concern over the huge rise in the prices of chicken and mutton.
