BARAMULLA, June 3: Stressing for ensuring effective utilization of funds allotted to the different departments under district plan and providing effective services to the general public, Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, Ch. Zulfkar Ali today chaired a meeting of officers here today.
MLA Baramulla, Javed Hassan Beigh, MLA Rafiabad Yawar Dilawar Mir and MLA Tangmarg, Mohammad Abbass Wani besides all district officers attended the meeting.
While taking a comprehensive review of the physical and financial achievements under district plan 2014-15, Zulfkar Ali stressed upon the fact that the general public and their issues and needs should be the focal point under the district plan.
The Minister reviewed the working of all developmental sectors and flagship programmes under the district plan. Special focus was given to the performance of different departments under the schemes, viz., IAY, MGNREGA, DRDA, RMSA, SSA, NRLM, Rural Sanitation and PHE schemes. The Minister, however, highlighted the need for improvement in their performance and asked the Officers to enhance their performance.
Earlier, District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Peerzada Mushtaq Ahmad Shah briefed the Minister about the physical and financial achievements under the district plan through a power point presentation.
On this occasion, MLAs highlighted issues in relation to the problems of their respective constituencies. MLA Rafiabad stressed upon the need for enhancing connectivity of the far flung areas and villages of the Sangrama Constituency, while MLA Gulmarg focussed upon construction of bridges for unconnected and remote areas.
Meanwhile, Ch. Zulfkar Ali also took note of the ongoing ration card survey in the district.
