JAMMU, Mar 25: In a Public Interest Litigation filed by Smile Social Youth Club raising an important issue regarding facilities for organs transplant, Division Bench of High Court comprising Chief Justice MM Kumar and Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar today directed Commissioner/ Secretary Health Department to comply with the orders within a period of two weeks or appear in person to explain his conduct.
When the PIL came up for hearing, State counsel moved motion for adjournment on the ground that nephew of the Secretary Health, Gazanfar Ali has expired as such he was not able to appear.
Keeping in view the situation, DB accepted the request for adjournment and directed Secretary Health to ensure compliance of the earlier order within a period of two weeks failing which he shall remain present in person.
