End reservation system in country, repeal UGC Act: GCPF

JAMMU, May 25: General Category People’s Front of India has demanded bringing end to the reservation system in the country and to repeal UGC Act immediately.
A meeting of General Category People’s Front (GCPF) was held here today under the chairmanship of Prof Yash Paul Sanson, president of the Front and discussed in detail the challenges being faced by the General Category people in the country.
Addressing the meeting, Paul alleged that political class of India had created prevailing anarchy and chaos over reservation policy in the country due to reserving everything including jobs, admissions, elections, selection of inefficient bureaucrats ignoring efficient and talented have exposed the political system which is collapsed people are forced to avail to services of inefficient government servants who are responsible for mounting woes of the masses paying heavy taxes to Government. He said that reservation is an appeasement and part of divisive vote bank politics.
Sanson demanded some legal steps to correct the injustices meted out to General Category through caste based policies of the Government and legal and constitutional steps for ‘equal rights and equal laws’ through “Equality Act” be taken. All such laws and provisions which differentiate between caste and caste be withdrawn to make India a civilized and democratic nation in real sense.
Som Nath Sharma, general secretary expressed concern over deplorable condition of the poor, needy and deserving families so called upper castes facing continuous neglect, marginalization and facing discrimination for the last some decades due to differential, divisive, bias, prejudicial, appeasement politics, a direct assault on the social, economic and political rights of General Category people. He said reservation cannot be forever. Govt must take steps to end reservations, repeal UGC Act, replace SCs / STs Atrocities Act, by National Atrocities Act (NAA) and constitute General Category Commission (GCC) to find out their suppression and neglect in socio-economic and political affairs.
VK Sharma, Jagdish Dogra and Bhushan Pargal also strongly opposed quota system in the country.
