Encroachment attempt on forest land foiled

REASI, May 11: Continuing its anti-encroachment drive, team of Reasi Forest Division has evicted more forest land from encroachers by dismantling two Kachha shops at Lamsora-1, tehsil Bomagh.
A team of Reasi Forest Division,  led by ACF Reasi,  M  S  Jamwal, Range Officer Reasi  Aman Thapa and   Forester  Prabh Dayal,  evicted forest land by dismantling Kachha shops in compartment 19a/R. These were illegally constructed on forest land by one Karnail Singh of Lamsora-1 Tehsil Bomagh District Reasi.
The eviction process was successfully executed in presence of Executive Magistrate Ist Class, appointed for the purpose with the assistance of Police and FPF personnels. The encroacher was evicted after following prescribed procedure as laid down in Section 48-A of J&K Forest Act. The material used for raising of structure viz. CGI sheets, were  seized under Section 26 of J&K Forest Act and the offender is being proceeded against under Section 6(f) of J&K Forest Act.
The whole eviction operation was conducted under the supervision of DFO Reasi, Dr Jitendra Kumar Singh   and closely monitored by CF West, Sameer Bharti Gupta.
