Employees discuss demands with Health Minister

SRINAGAR, July 17: A deputation of health employees today called on the Minister for Health, Sham Lal Sharma at his official residence here and discussed various issue pertaining to the welfare of the health employees.
The deputation was represented by heads of Kashmir and Jammu provinces, Sheikh Mehraj-ud-Din and Sushil Sudan.
The employees highlighted several issues and sought immediate intervention of the Minister for the appropriate disposal. The issues which came under discussion included, regularization of all those engaged on ad-hoc, contractual, consolidated basis, up-gradation of posts of  Pharmacists as Block Pharmacy Officer, confirmation of Pharmacists through DPC, exemption in Renewal Registration Fee, re-constitution of Pharmacy Council, grant of risk allowance and other burning issues.
The Minister gave a patient hearing to the demands of the employees and assured that all their genuine issues will be addressed in a phased manner. He said that Government has already addressed their most of the demands however, the pending ones will be examined on priority and addressed accordingly.
Maintaining that the department has touched new heights and secured top most position in the country in the primary healthcare, the Minister said that this could be possible with the best efforts of each section of the employees and this credit cannot be taken by any individual. He hoped that the employees will continue to support the Government and work with extra vigor to improve the health services in every nook and corner of the State.
He said that it was the present Coalition Government which created huge number of posts of doctors, and para-medics and enhanced their incentives substantially. He said that Government acknowledges the hard work of the health employees who are maintaining the services in the rural and far-flung areas and measures are afoot to further improve the working conditions in the health intuitions.
