JAMMU, Sept 22: Employees Joint Action Committee, president Abdul Qayoom Wani today said that withholding of salaries of Government, Public Sector and temporary employees ahead of Eid festival was a worst kind of precedence exhibiting carelessness and casual approach of any incumbent Government towards its employees.
Wani expressed his dismay over non release of salaries to employees of State especially Casual and Temporary employees and SSA and RMSA teachers who are without salaries for the last six months and they have reached the position of starvation.
He said that Rs 88 crore of SSA salaries is pending in Secretariat Treasury for the last one week which has provided one more chance to MHRD to stop our due share of Rs 500 crores as a first instalment of Salary component. It speaks the callous attitude of the State Government towards its employees.
Mr Wani said that it is for the first time in the history of J&K when Eid or Dewali comes in the last week of the month the employees are facing worst financial crisis by not releasing their due salaries as per previous precedence.
He urged upon the Government not to take test to the patience of five lakh employees of State and urged upon immediate release of salaries before Eid-ul- Azha keeping in view the financial strains of its employees.
